AND WE'RE LIVE!!!

While her sisters have made their homes among the mortals, Lea has always been content to stay in the realm of the Fae, serving as their Orcale and tending to her dragons. However, the Reckoning has turned her once quiet life upside down. Her powers are erratic, unstable, and potentially deadly. Her connection to the divine has grown stronger, but her prophecies make no sense, though she's afraid they may foretell her demise. The dragons she'd sworn to protect are at risk, being hunted again after centuries of hiding in safety. And as if that wasn't enough on her plate, the secrets of her past have been revealed, making her question everything she's ever believed.

But there's no time for personal issues, because war is coming. Lea's half sister, who happens to the be the rightful heir to the crown, is still missing. They'll have to go to war with the Maigere to get her back, and reclaiming the throne will mean civil war among the Fae. While Lea is happy that her sisters are back in her life, ready to put their kingdom back to rights, there is one among their allies that could completely shatter her world as she knows it forever.

Dain is arrogant and dominating, and he infuriates Lea to no end. He also makes her feel things that no one ever has before. He wants her, and though she hates to admit it, she wants him just as much. There's just one small problem- as Oracle, Lea has taken a vow of purity, which means that Dain is off limits. Unfortunately, she suspects that he's her soul mate, and that kind of connection doesn't care about vows. Is she willing to give up all that she is for a man she barely knows?

Life has always been predictable and certain, and now it's anything but. Lea doesn't know if she can withstand the coming storm, or if she'll surrender to the chaos threatening to consume her.

I'm so excited about this, ya'll!!! The first two books were out in a year's time, and this baby has taken me almost four years to publish. Sometimes life throws you for a loop, and I tell ya, I was looped! But I never gave up, even when I wanted to, and I'm so proud to be able to say this is finally done!!

So, here is where you can pick up book 3:

And don't worry, I don't intend to take several years to finish book 4... thanks to NaNoWriMo, I'm already 30,000 words deep in Kia's story!!!

Book 3 Has Begun...

The crowd was surprisingly quiet for being so large. Of all the auctions they’d attended, the ones on Glausse always drew the biggest crowds. Of course, they were in the city of Decadence, where the selling of slaves had become a national pastime.

Dain kept himself perfectly still, swallowing the bitterness and hate as drunken citizens ogled him as if he were a prized heifer. The girl to his left, who couldn't be two decades old yet, cried silently as she was inspected and assessed over and over again. He tried to send her what strength he had left, willing her to calm down before she made things so much worse for herself.

This wasn't Dain’s first auction, wasn't even his hundredth. Over the last six hundred years, he’d become well versed in the buying and selling of flesh, as well as the many ways to take advantage of such situations. His captors would never actually sell him- he was much more valuable to them than any amount of coins- but they managed to make a fortune pretending to sell him at every opportunity, slipping out with their prize before the transfer could be made.

Between auctions, well… Dain didn't like to think about that. The long and humiliating hours spent in Mistress Leigh’s bedchamber were shoved to the back of his mind each morning, as if they never happened. Of course, it all returned to him in dreams, but there was nothing he could do about that........

The voices in my head have faces!

I tend to be a visual person, so I have this 'inspiration board' on my computer to help me keep a firm grasp on my characters. Some of these are celebrities (I think) and some are just random faces I found on the web. I thought I'd share them, and we can see who agrees or disagrees with me.

Disclaimer: whatever it is that is supposed to be said here about not owning rights to these pics or not intending to step on toes or piss celebrities off, or  not intending to associate a certain person with my characters, etc. etc. etc... Yeah, that.

Row 1 (top): Dimitri, Marchand, Cohn, Breannah, Auviannah, Cahtiannah, Dre
Row 2: Gretchen, Daniel, Ryn, Tori, Lea, Dain, Adie
Row 3: Laisa, Mitch, Abel, Mae, Kia, Karak, Cait (don't worry bout her yet)
Row 4: Toni, Shayne, Jaroz, Vivie, Caiden, Kako, "Lucy" (yes, he'll be back)

Also, a little graphic fun (because I get super board at work and have nothing to do and no internet access)

That is all. Carry on with the rest of your day!

Poor Lea (a random snippet)

“Why are you trying to enthrall me?” she asked quietly.

His eyes widened in surprise. “I’m not,” he assured her, “but I find it very satisfying that you’re enthralled by me.” He was sliding under her bedspread, turning down her side. “Now, come to bed.”

Once again, her traitorous body inserted itself right beside him. They were all cozy and warm. Son of a bitch.

“No cuddling,” she warned him, hoping he didn’t hear the quiver in her voice.

Dain touched the lamp to turn it off, then chuckled quietly in the dark. “For now,” he said gruffly.

Though Dain fell asleep right away, it was a long time before Lea could get comfortable. Obviously, he had some kind of agenda, but she didn’t have a clue as to what it might be. Unless it was to drive her crazy, in which case he was doing a stupendous job so far.

Sleep finally rescued Lea from the awkwardness of being so close to Dain. Unfortunately, he was right there waiting for her in her dreams.

Perhaps I have issues I'm not addressing

I used to think it was bad when I talked to myself, and even worse when I answered, but now... now there's a whole lot to be worried about going on in my head....

Mae: Why aren't you writing about me? I thought this was my book.

Me: It is your book, what do you think all those pages are about?

Mae: Yeah, but everybody else is getting up in it...

Me: Mae, there's a lot to tell, but the story is yours.

Mae: How come Tori got her own book and I have to share with everybody?

Me: Things were just getting started in Tori's book. There's a lot more story to tell now.

Mae: Well, why can't I just tell it?

Tori: Shut your yap, Maeday! Just be happy you get a book at all.

Lea: Exactly. You were in Tori's book much more than I was, and you don't see me complaining.

Mae: Yeah, but that's because you weren't important.

Lea: Watch it, Sis... You're coming to my house in a few chapters. You wanna eat while you're there? If so, I suggest you put a lid on it, pronto.

Mae: Fine, whatevs. But why do the bitches have to be in it so much?

Me: Bitches?

Mae: You know, Vee, Kako...

Vivie: Excuse me? Bitches?

Mae: Vee, you know I mean that in a sweet way.

Vivie: If you want to be sweet, don't start with "bitches."

Tori: Would you two shut the hell up already? I'm rockin a nasty headache all of the sudden.

Me: *heavy sigh* Maybe I should write the other story...

Mae, Tori, Lea, Vivie: WHAT???

at least that got their attention... and all is quiet for a while in my head... mostly.
